Courmayeur Mont
Blanc, where adventure
and activities are four season companions!
The
young and the restless will truly enjoy runs like the Arp, which begins at an
altitude of 2,700m, and continues to Dolonne, a highly challenging and diverse
14kms further on. Then to the Thula Glacier, which is no place for the meek or
weak.
The Vallee Blanche, a glorious run through the "Mer du Glace"
(sea of ice) to Chamonix is long (16kms) and therefore daunting and
intimidating, but can be enjoyed by skiers who have basic control over their
skis.
|
Please be advised that many of these high mountain runs should only be
undertaken in the company of a qualified guide.
Cross-country skiers will find small, but very beautiful trails in Val
Ferret just outside the town in the direction of the Mont Blanc Tunnel. |
A second possibility for cross-country
skiers is in Dolone, again just outside town, but in the other direction. Lifts
getting one into the ski mainstream leave from Dolone and Val Veny, as well as
from the village proper.
