Toula Glacier
One of the most fantastic runs in
the world
 WHERE:
From Helbronner Point mt.3452 you reach the Toula pass (mt. 3450)
in a few minutes on skis. From there a metal staircase allows
access to the Toula Glacier. With a long engaging, wonderful
run, often in deep snow conditions, all the way down to La Palud
Courmayeur with a descent of more 2000 metres. The descent is
considered "off-piste" for very good skiers only. We
also suggest: Col d'Arp, l'Arp Vieille, the Couloir of Dolonne,
and many other different runs for deep snow skiers: steep gullies,
thick woods engaging slopes, mostly north face, where the snow
is always soft and magic powder.

you good enough?
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE:
Mont Blanc cable car reach Helbronner in less than 30 minutes
from La Palud. It takes 01h.30 each descent. (This time could
change, depending on the snow condition and the level of the
group.
WHICH IS THE BEST PERIOD:
It is possible to ski on the Toula glacier from Christmas to
the beginning of May. During January and February snow and weather
conditions are usually excellent with winter snow condition.
In March and especially throughout in April you will find spring
snow condition. These notes are obviously very general, depending
upon the season weather. More detailed information is available
from our Guide's Office.
SKIING LEVEL:
The Toula glacier is for very good skiers 5th class of ski school
(good control of your skis in black piste with bumps.
EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:
Besides the usual skiing equipment, we suggest: camera.
GROUPS: 4/6 people each Guide.
MEETING: 08h.30/09.00 in front of the ticket
shop of the cablecar of Funivie Monte Bianco (La Palud) or in
front of the Tourist Office of Courmayeur. At the moment of your
booking you will know where your meeting has been fixed.
COST: Lire 55.000 per person half day,
in group of 4 people.
Lire 42.000 per person half day, in group of 6 people.
THE COST INCLUDES:
- Alpine Guide assistance.
- A.R.V.A. (Avalanche victim detector).
- Insurance from the place of accident to the nearest hospital.
CABLECAR La Palud - Punta Helbronner.
This cost is enclosed in your ski-pass from 3 or 7 consecutive
days.
If you haven't a valid Ski-pass you have to pay:
- Ski-pass Lire 46.000 per person.
HOW TO TAKE PART:
Names of those interested should be presented to the Guides Society
Office by 5p.m. (Courmayeur Centre Church square "Museo
Alpino").The full cost of the excursion must be paid immediately
on signing up. Booking for the Toula Glacier will be accepted
up till 2 days before the desired date of the excursion. There
will be no resounded for participants who do not turn up punctually
at the appointed time departure.
