Courmayeur, the famous Mont Blanc ski resort is not just one of the best winter destinations in Italy for downhill skiers. The resort has something of beauty and surroundings for cross country skiers as well. In Val Ferret, just a few kms (about 6) from the center of Courmayeur lies one of the most beautiful cross country areas in all of the Alps. Stretching to 20km of sci di findo (thats Italian folks) trails, the area is suitable for all standards. It is reached by bus or private car. There is plenty of parking.
